As a critical-thinking and social justice education educator for the past few years, I can use what I teach and learn to assist me in becoming a better writer. It’s entirely possible I could help others, too.
While extra spending money and increased reads are nice, the best part of writing and displaying my photos on the medium is what I’ve retained. The finest skill that’s made me a better writer is not a skill. It’s more of a mediation. I’ve learned to slow down and breathe before hitting the submit button. My ADD used to get the best of me, wanting to write quickly and get a story out, but many were filled with mistakes that editors frowned upon. After meditating, I gently apply my mind brakes, mainly by sleeping on stories. At the same time, I’m not perfect yet. I aspire to be in 2025. Hey! How’s that for a New Year’s resolution?
