Welcome to an immersive journey into the heart of Hurricane Milton. Reporting live from Starkey Ranch in Odessa, Florida—located just 30 miles north of Tampa—I’m here to give you a front-row view of the storm's intensity.

In this firsthand account, I’ll walk you through the critical phases of the hurricane, including the eerie calm during the eye of the storm. The eye, often overlooked, is the calm center that can surprise with its stillness, even as it sets the stage for the storm to intensify. You’ll also learn how this “weather aerobics” leads the eye to break apart and form an even larger one.
